Client Case Study Rachel Warner - When I Grow Up

Client Case Study Rachel Warner - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Ive coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakin rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now and youll hear their stories firsthand in my  Client Case Studies series! Rachel Warner signed up for 90 Day Business Launch this summer, and her new coaching business and a gorgeous site to go with it will launch on November 1st! Read how she went from a laundry list of hobbies and interests to a fully launched dream business in just 3 months. I get chills! Why did you decide to sign up for 90 Day Business Launch? At the beginning of the year I set a goal to work with Michelle in some capacity before the end of 2016. I wasn’t sure I could go the full-on coaching route but I kept an eye out for the different options while putting part of every paycheck into my savings. When I learned of the 90 Day Business Launch I knew I had found exactly what I needed to finally get a clear vision and plan together to create my own business. I was nervous because I didn’t have a specific business idea, but I did have a laundry list of interests and hobbies and a ton of faith that Michelle and Laura could help me figure out what to do next. What were you doing work-wise when you started the program? I had a full-time day job in marketing and no concrete idea of what I wanted to build for myself. I’ve had a ton of jobs that were never right for me and I used that experience to start to define what I actually need out of a dream career. As I worked through the process I gained a ton of clarity around who my customer is and how I want to help her and from there the rest of the pieces came together. What was your biggest takeaway from 90 Day Business Launch? Nothing is as complicated as it seems before you start. It’s so easy to be intimidated by the idea of doing something, especially something huge like starting your own business from scratch, but then you just take your baby steps and make progress and all of a sudden, it’s actually happening. Also, action is more important than perfection. I could easily brainstorm and plot and plan an idea to death, but it’s so much more productive to make a decision and start taking action. Things can always be tweaked and improved but you have to start doing something before you really know how to make it better. Was there anything else you tried to do as a business between the time we stopped the program and what you do for work now? No, but I have searched on and off for a more flexible day job that will take less of my time and allow me to focus on building my business. What would you tell someone now that was in your shoes when we first started working together? Whats your best tip to allow them to make a grown-up living doing what they love? If you are like me and have wanted to do this for a long time, but never actually pulled the trigger and made it happen, now is the time to go for it! Sure, you could keep putting it off and waiting for the right time, but you might end up waiting forever. Don’t wait just because you don’t know exactly what your dream career looks like, you will figure it out and Michelle and Laura will help you make sense of it all. Whats on the horizon for your business? Wed love to hear about any upcoming offerings or goals! My big huge launch of Rachel Warner Coaching is on November 1st and I’m planning all sorts of awesomeness to celebrate all month long!  You can take a sneak peak here.
